GO TO WISECXAs part of our ongoing Managed Services partnership, WiseCX alerted us to a rapidly escalating cost driver: the audio recordings it stores in Amazon S3—millions of files generated by its contact-center platform—had become the single largest line item on its monthly AWS invoice, outpacing compute and database spend combined.
These recordings aren’t optional archives; they’re mission-critical for quality assurance, dispute resolution, and strict regulatory mandates that require multi-year retention with near-instant playback. Any optimisation, therefore, had to deliver meaningful savings while guaranteeing sub-second retrieval latency for agents, auditors, and compliance teams—and without disrupting the real-time analytics pipelines that consume those files every day.

Evaluation and Testing
With a clear diagnosis and a defined strategy, DinoCloud got to work on validating the most effective solution. The first step was to conduct proof-of-concept (POC) tests to measure the real impact of the selected options. Initially, S3 Intelligent-Tiering was implemented to automate storage management, allowing data to dynamically transition between different storage classes based on detected access patterns. This test proved to be highly effective in optimizing file storage with variable usage.
Next, DinoCloud proceeded with a second POC using S3 Lifecycle, where specific rules were configured to automatically move data to more cost-effective storage classes as they aged. This combination of automation and age-based management helped find the perfect balance between cost reduction and immediate availability.
Both tests were crucial in validating that the solution was not only feasible but also efficient and aligned with WiseCX’s operational objectives.
From Testing to Full Deployment
After confirming the effectiveness of both strategies through careful testing, DinoCloud collaborated with WiseCX to consolidate the findings into a production-ready implementation. Intelligent-Tiering and Lifecycle rules were fine-tuned and deployed at scale, enabling a fully automated, cost-optimized storage layer.
This transition ensured the tested benefits were consistently realized in day-to-day operations, aligning technical outcomes with business goals and supporting WiseCX’s ongoing growth.
